Family Together for Jose

Jose was diagnosed with Leukemia at 9 years old. After two years of chemo, bone marrow transplants, and other invasive treatments, he enrolled in a drug trial at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, hoping to buy more time.

Traveling back and forth from Charlotte has meant loss of work for his parents, who now find themselves several months behind on their mortgage payment.  The choice became - stay in town to work and pay bills or travel with their son for cancer treatments - not a choice any parent should have to make.

Jane’s Fund was able to help the family catch up on bills and pay their mortgage for six months while they travel to Philly together, as a family.

Jose’s story embodies Jane’s Fund’s mission to keep families together and afloat while caring for a child dying of cancer.
