Give a kid a stick...

...and watch her practice shooting a ball with it in the backyard. 

Give the kid a coach...

...and watch him play defense, offense, and lead the younger kids on the field. 

Give the kid an invite to a college lacrosse game...

...and watch her cheer and ask how she can play on the college field one day. 

Ask the kid a question...

...and let him tell you he loves math and wants to be a surgeon when he grows up. 

Give the kid a hotdog...

...and hear her ask what's an application. 

Give the kid a map to college...

...and watch him show up to school, work hard, and get better grades.

Jane’s Fund started summer and after school lacrosse clinics through the Greater Enrichment Program (GEP) in the summer of 2023. What began for 4th and 5th graders at Merry Oakes has now expanded into 5 schools within GEP: Bruns Avenue Elementary, Niner University Elementary, Montclaire Elementary, Merry Oaks International Academy, and Thomasboro Academy School. The program, launched by Jane’s Fund with the help of Kristy Boyles is now run by Kym Ardrey (assistant lacrosse coach at CCDS and future dental student) and high school volunteer lacrosse coaches. 

It’s amazing what happens when you give a kid a stick!
