Hope in the Dark
The first week of middle school, Annie had a seizure at school and shortly after was diagnosed in the emergency room with a brain tumor. Tumor resected and seizures controlled with medication, Annie returned to school part-time while she worked tirelessly to regain strength to walk again at physical therapy. Hoping for a cure, Annie, her mom and her brother were devastated when she seized again 18 months later while on a family vacation.
Six years of seizures, hospitals, and treatments mixed with tears, laughter, setbacks and comebacks, Annie took her last breath this week. Her brave mother, Stella, stopped working a few months ago to be with Annie around-the-clock. Life doesn’t stop because Annie died, and Stella, behind on bills, needs HOPE.
Stella needs a reminder that no matter how dark life can be, there is a light at the end of our darkest tunnels. Thank you for being HOPE this week. Jane’s Fund is grateful for YOU and needs your help.
