Lights are on, Thanks to You

16-year-old Antione and his family thought life was busy with work and school until he was diagnosed with a high grade brain glioma without a cure. In that moment, life changed in the blink of an eye. Instead of going to work after school and playing basketball with friends, Antione’s days quickly became filled with visits to the ER for seizures and clinic visits for brain cancer treatment.

With the guidance of Antione’s social worker at Duke, Jane’s Fund paid off six months of car payments so transportation to and from treatment wasn’t in jeopardy. As the tumor progressed, Jane’s Fund recently paid off the entire home mortgage for Antione’s family.
What parent should ever have to choose between spending the last weeks with their son or going to work to keep the lights on?

It is your generosity that makes it possible to bring a little light to a family when they need it the most. Thank you!
