Always Give Love the Upper Hand
Beautiful and spunky 8-year-old Ginny was referred to home hospice in late January with an estimated 30 days left to live, after a fierce battle with rhabdomyosarcoma, a tumor of the soft tissue. Her parents are divorced and both remarried, which meant Ginny would need to choose between her parents’ homes to live out her final days.
Because of the hard work by Emily Riordan, her determined and creative social worker with Atrium Health, Jane’s Fund was able to jump on the opportunity to pay for a beautiful airbnb on the lake, big enough for each family to have their own space and for Ginny’s last days to be peaceful and full of love.
Ginny marched to heaven just 10 days later, surrounded by her parents, siblings and family dogs. We are thankful for the legacy of love she leaves behind.
