Love & Light from the LAX Community

On March 9, the Crown Lacrosse Classic, our region's premier college lacrosse event, took place in Charlotte with Jane's Fund as the official charity partner. The tournament itself donated a portion of all ticket sales, Powell Lacrosse donated a brand new youth lacrosse stick to Jane's Fund for every stick sold in the week leading up to the event and our mission was shared on the field and big screen throughout the four games that day.

When beginning Jane's Fund, the Harrell family shared, "Trying and excelling at a variety of sports taught Jane many lessons: how to lose and get back up again; how sports can tear down biases, create unity, build confidence, fight fear and encourage empathy with all kinds of people." As Jane's Fund looks to continue and expand the reach of the Play Like Jane lacrosse clinics, our goal is to get sticks in as many kids' hands as possible who might not otherwise have the opportunity, allowing them to leave their hardship on the field and come together as a team. This support goes a long way in bringing that vision to life.

A huge thank you to the Crown Lacrosse Classic, Powell Lacrosse, Chris Schiller, Gretchen and Ryan Powell and Kristy Boyles for spreading love and light with lax!
